So my acting mentor’s agent got back to me today with regards to my showreel. The response was very positive: “I think she’s very strong and absolutely headed in the right direction as an actress… Ildiko is certainly skilled and talented.” This is good news and supports my plan to make contact with prospective agents and get myself and my work “out there” in the industry. For emerging actors, it’s about doing the hard yards, sourcing work for yourself and demonstrating professionalism and creative integrity. It’s then about finding an agent who supports you, who you trust and who can work with you to secure your future goals. It’s a good day!
So I sent off my portfolio to prospective agents and I guess I now must play the waiting game…
Worked at the theatre tonight and was fascinated by the scripting and re-scripting process which has been occurring in the lead up to Opening Night. It’s a great learning process to observe what the writer thinks works and doesn’t work in front of an audience.
Read/watched these articles – very interesting stuff!
So, fingers crossed I get the agent of my dreams! Yep, I said it.
